An online retailer has thanked an overhaul of its web design for a boost in visitors and sales.
Deanscards.com, an American website selling and trading sports cards, experienced a 100 per cent lift in visitors and a 35 per cent rise in sales last year, according to Internet Retailer.
The company's president, Dean Hanley, told an audience at the Internet Retailer Web Design & Usability 2010 Conference that setting goals and a plan of action were the keys to success.
The achievement was particularly notable as the website had previously been redesigned in 2008, although not to the desired success.
This time, the company first analysed the website's performance with the web designer before setting a plan with stated aims including how much they wanted to increase sales and conversion rates by.
Student insurance company Endsleigh recently reported that it had seen bounce rates reduced by a third and a visitor increase of 12.5 per cent after carrying out bespoke web design.
