Advice on using video within bespoke websites to boost search engine optimisation (SEO) has been given.
Benjamin Wayne used a Search Engine Watch article to explain that search engines reward websites which have different types of content within them in order to provide mixed search results.
He also pointed out that there is not much video content submitted to search engines, giving an advantage to those who use it.
"For best results, sites should submit a permalink sitemap that mirrors their video XML feed," Mr Wayne wrote.
Video titles should be the same as the title tags that the creator places on the permalink pages, he added.
The SEO Consult blog has also addressed the issue.
It suggested using text transcripts of the video or captions to let search engines know what is being displayed on the page.
Using video hosting sites as well as one's own bespoke website is another good way of publicising a business.
