Companies will carry on creating branded mobile applications for smartphones over 2010, two professionals have predicted.
Dan Neumann and Allison Mooney of Advertising Age outlined several mobile trends that they believe will be seen this year, including the continuation of branded apps.
However, they added that many firms will look at media buying options, since the application market is now very full.
As such, the branded apps will develop better display media options.
Mr Neumann and Ms Mooney think that mobile devices will "completely revolutionise" the communication between marketers and target customers, such as taking a person's location into account.
They also believe that mobile internet connection and social media will empower consumers that they are able to give their thoughts on products at any time and from any place.
In related news, SeacoastOnline reports that changes are occurring within the mobile phone market as the iPhone and Android take dominance away from the BlackBerry.
