How bespoke web design must change

22nd January 2010

By Chris Mellish

Creators of tailor made websites have been given a list of trends they need to consider over the course of 2010.

Softpedia's Catalin Cimpanu outlined a number of internet trends that are affecting web design, such as the increasing need for mobile versions of websites and the rise of high-definition photographs as content.

Websites need to display and work properly for mobiles because smartphones are becoming more popular and also more technologically advanced.

The consumer experience also needs to be made simpler, with easier log-in forms that are not time-consuming to fill in.

Ms Cimpanu also outlined some trends for web design layout, such as the use of white space on the pages and presentation boxes to provide relevant information quickly and easily.

Coast Digital blogger Ashley Fletcher recently stressed the need for webpages to load quickly.

Google's new Caffeine update rates websites for load speeds when placing them in the search rankings.
