Bespoke website design helped Hampshire firm's success

17th December 2009

The importance of bespoke web design has been highlighted by a Hampshire boat designer.

Adam Younger Design, based in Lymington, is responsible for the Technohull 888, which scooped a top accolade at the Greek Formula 2 Rigid Inflatable Boats Championships back in September.

It won six races and came second in three of them.

Mr Younger, who is now planning to make an exhibition at a major Florida boat show, told Cowes Online that bespoke web design had been important in expanding his business.

"Guidance on marketing my products and creating an engaging website that is relevant to different countries was of particular help," he said.

Current plans for the Hampshire firm include designs for more environmentally-friendly vessels.

David Harry recently used a Search Engine Journal article to stress the importance of maintaining good copy on a website.

He noted that the text needs to be used to generate "buyer motivation" and warned that bad web design will lose business because shoppers will abandon their carts before making purchases.
