Bespoke website design needs to accommodate the diverse nature of the internet, according to a professional.
Peter Crisafi pointed out that social search is a newcomer to the online world but is one that web design needs to embrace in order to thrive.
He pointed out that social media sites such as YouTube and Facebook have brought search marketing beyond simply paid and organic search options and noted that the video sharing website is "the number two search engine".
While acknowledging that this may not be common knowledge, Mr Crisafi explained that the large and varied content it spans means the status is justified.
In an article for SEOptimise, Kevin Gibbons recently made a similar statement, urging firms to ensure that they keep adapting to the internet's changing face.
As competition can appear suddenly, companies should keep reviewing their search engine optimisation tactics even if they are ranking well in the search results.
