Bespoke website design ought to utilise the growth of social media.
This is according to Lee Williams, who outlined the role of social media for ecommerce marketing to Glenn Baker of NZBusiness.
Mr Williams said that social media is "the big online development of the last couple of years".
He described social networking as "a terrific tool" for customer engagement.
Mr Williams also stressed the need for search engine optimisation (SEO) in bespoke website design, explaining that it is necessary to make a site visible and accessible to customers.
He called SEO the "first priority".
Alex Garden of Netinsites told the publication that an SEO strategy needs to consider matters such as choosing the right keywords and gathering links from other sites that rank highly.
Recently, Armando Roggio used a Practical Ecommerce article to warn social media marketers not to be too aggressive in their tactics.
He urged them instead to engage with customers on a personal level.
