Blogger Cheryl noted that guest posts tend to be quite popular on large blogs that already have a strong following, adding that these tend to appear when the main writer is on holiday.
She added that guest posts offer the benefit of free content and could also increase the number of visitors to the site because the writer is likely to attract their own following.
In addition, frequent guest posts can help a site's ranking in Google News, which can rank sites with multiple authors more highly.
Liana Evans of Search Engine Watch noted that when setting up a blog, it is important to post information that the user finds valuable.
She explained that it is essential to listen to the audience and adjust the content as necessary to meet their needs, rather than assume the type of content that readers may be interested in.
