Disney uses mobile application to build customer relationships

28th October 2009

Customers are to be rewarded for exploring the Disney website with a new mobile application being launched by the company.

Jason Davis, Disney.com's vice president, explained to the Associated Press that the mobile application is meant to foster stronger relationships between users and various Disney characters.

He said that the app is intended to do more than just improve traffic.

Free of charge, the Disney mobile application will be available through iTunes and will offer users rewards of exclusive content if they successfully follow clues to take pictures of certain characters.

In the future, the app may be used to give people bonuses for activity such as making a purchase at a Disney store.

The Independent recently outlined a number of mobile applications intended to help people keep track of their spending.

Apps exist to demonstrate a person's energy consumption costs as well as helping to find cheap or free alternatives to costly 0870 numbers.
