The need for clear goals when using a search engine optimisation (SEO) tactic for a website has been highlighted by a professional.
In a blog post for SEOptimise, Stuart Tofts said that businesses often do not have a proper idea of what they hope to achieve by optimising their website content.
He explained that organisations may want to create more sales, bring in higher traffic, get donations or offer information.
If an ecommerce website owners wants to up sales, Mr Tofts suggested using tactics such as email and social media marketing as well as pay-per-click advertising and trying to get coverage in the press.
A Stuck On author called Cheryl recently noted that both links and content can be optimised on a website.
She concluded that content is more powerful than links, as the latter last for only a finite amount of time and good content will attract more links.
