Reasons for criticising of search engine optimisation (SEO) for websites have been outlined by an industry professional.
In an Econsultancy blog post, Patricio Robles identified a number of common reasons people against SEO and explained why they were unfounded.
He said that some people may oppose SEO because they do not wish to put in the necessary work or have been listening only to people who have bad things to say abut it and may be making sweeping statements or passing on untruths.
Mr Robles did note that "SEO snake oil" does exist and that people who have had a bad experience with someone could be put off the strategy in general.
In addition, he suggested some people might criticise it because they regard it as complicated.
Rebecca Wheeler recently used a Coast Digital blog post to explain that website SEO is a long-term strategy and may take months to bring in measurable benefits.
