Mobile applications that allow users voice control have an attraction to consumers, an expert has said.
Ian Fogg, a Forrester principal analyst, told the Times that a hands-free method of control eliminates any problems with data entry.
He said that mobile devices with small screens and keyboards and ones which are not user-friendly could do best out of voice control.
Mr Fogg was speaking as Nokia gears up to release its voice control enabled smartphone.
A mobile application from Vlingo is pre-loaded in the N97 Mini, allowing users to make voice commands for activity such as using the internet, emailing and making calls.
The N97 Mini has a 3.2 inch touchscreen and 8GB of storage capacity.
A partnership is also set up with Facebook as the product is linked with Lifecasting with Ovi.
This allows people to change their statuses directly using its homescreen.
In addition, the homescreen can be customised by the user.
