Owners of websites have been urged to measure the results of their search engine optimisation (SEO) strategies.
In an article for Search Engine Watch, Mark Jackson suggested waiting for a fortnight and then using analytics to see where traffic is coming from and assessing conversion rates.
This can help to identify the optimum keywords for the SEA campaign.
Mr Jackson suggested looking at rankings for certain keywords after they have been shown to have a conversion rate of two per cent or more.
He also recommended relevant website content, blogs and internal links to help drive conversion rates.
Stuck On recently carried an article by an author known as Carl, in which website owners were advised to optimise the tags for images and videos.
These should be made of relevant words rather than numbers.
Carl said that SEO performance and traffic could improve significantly if images are subjected to SEO techniques as well as written content.
