Web design for ecommerce sites needs to be tailored to certain sorts of people.
This is the statement made by an author known as Nick on the SEO Consult Blog.
Nick explained that the type of visitor who is attracted to a website is more important than the numbers, as it is the target market which is likely to convert visits into sales.
"It all comes down to the correct optimisation tactics and good web analytics," Nick stated.
He also highlighted the need for good use of keywords and to convince visitors to make investments in the website once they have arrived there.
Last week, Hal Pritchard told Smart Company that web design also needs to be tailored to fit the season.
He explained that his firm, Everton Online, changes its search engine optimisation strategies to capitalise on the Christmas market.
Mr Pritchard said that businesses have to get themselves associated with the festivities in consumers' minds.
