Tips for including pictures in a website's search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy have been offered by a writer.
An author identified as Carl used a Stuck On article to explain that Google's Universal Search can be used to optimise for more than simply text content.
Images, video and blogs can be included.
He urged web designers to give their images optimised tags using descriptive words rather than numbers.
Optimising the title of the page and the anchor text can also work to help images rank highly on searches.
"By using SEO techniques on your images you can drastically increase your website's reach and traffic levels," Carl wrote.
Ron Jones recently wrote a Search Engine Watch piece to explain how SEO could be carried out to maximise results from foreign countires.
He noted that optimum keywords may not be the same in every country and recommended that firms hire language experts to help them identify the best terms to use.
