Falling advertising revenues have prompted some fashion magazine publishers to look at how they can boost their income through ecommerce websites.
This is according to paidContent, which reports that Conde Nast's Shop The Look ecommerce website looks set to be launched ahead of this autumn's New York Fashion Week.
The site is attached to the publisher's Style.com portal and will see users directed to the online store from fashion galleries on the main website, a move that Conde Nast says it hopes will help to boost advertisers' profiles.
"If we can drive advertisers' sales, we know we've done our job beyond simply serving as a branding platform for them, which we also do quite well," commented Rachel Wintner, associate publisher for Style.com.
The clothing, footwear and accessories category regularly sees double-digit growth in the UK's ecommerce sector as shown by the monthly e-Retail Sales Index published by IMRG and Capgemini.
