A new study has ranked the Hilton as having the best hotel website when it comes to the customer experience.
Conducted by benchmarking company Global Reviews, the research rated Hilton.com highly when it was examined against criteria for the hotel selection and booking processes, customer support and usability.
Hotels.com and Express by Holiday Inn also performed well, particularly in the hotel selection and booking categories, according to the study.
Global Reviews said that hotel websites should personalise the booking experience by encouraging web users to phone or send an email to make a reservation.
"Many hotels recognise the importance of the web and spend a lot of money trying to make it as accessible as possible for customers," commented Bertie Stevenson, director of Global Reviews.
Last month, Global Reviews ranked Volvo as having the best car website for product comparisons, with Jaguar, Porsche and Lexus failing to beat the average score.
