Android users can now download an unofficial Spotify mobile application while they wait for the official version to be made available.
Droidify enables playlist and song synchronisation via Wi-Fi or 3G networks, but does not have offline playback capabilities.
Only those with a premium Spotify account can make use of the app, which is available from Android Market.
Spotify previewed its own Android mobile app - which also requires a premium account for access - at the Google I/O conference earlier this year.
"This is simply a demo and very much still a work in progress. And to head off the inevitable questions, we don't have any more details on when it will be available," Spotify said in a blog post at the time.
Spotify applied to have its official iPhone app approved by Apple last month.
The app is very similar to the full desktop client and has offline playback features, the company said.
