Trends in iPhone mobile application development are beginning to shift due to changing demands.
This is according to a report from iPhoneAppQuotes.com, which has highlighted some of the newer iPhone requests.
Development inquiries are increasingly focusing on medical applications, as well as those centring on education, business and books.
In fact, the website claims that application requests are split down the middle between consumer and business-based developments.
This reflects a growing interest in business applications for the iPhone as firms are looking to make the most of the technology, which currently offers some 65,000 applications.
Gregg Weiss, founder of iPhoneAppQuotes.com, explained that the iPhone creates a marketing opportunity because it is available in 77 countries and has a rapidly growing consumer base.
"Business apps are proving to be the most popular category of apps as entrepreneurs and small businesses realise the marketing and additional revenue stream potential the iPhone creates," Mr Weiss commented.
Apple recently revealed that iPhone customers have downloaded 1.5 billion applications over the last year.
