Google has announced that it has optimised its search results for a wide range of mobile phones and languages after initially doing so for the iPhone and Android in the US last year.
The new search results format for Google.com is now available on all device models - including both smartphones and feature phones - in more than 60 countries and 38 languages worldwide.
Users can now benefit from improved support for universal search results, while specific types of listings - such as local restaurant results - include the relevant phone number link or other such shortcut.
"One of our top goals on the mobile search team is to bring you the comprehensiveness of Google's web search while optimising the search experience for your mobile device and in your language," commented Reza Ziaei, Frank Xue and Haruki Sato of Google Mobile in a blog post.
According to a recent report from Opera, Google is currently the most used search engine by mobile internet users worldwide.
