A software developer has announced that it has finished a new browser plug-in aimed at enabling Flash content on Android devices.
The plug-in from Bsquare is aimed at ARM-based handsets running on Android 1.5, otherwise known as the Cupcake release of the operating system.
Larry Stapleton, vice-president of global sales for Bsquare, claimed that the plug-in will help to offer a "fundamentally different" rich media experience for users of the mobile web.
He commented: "The next version of Google's Android operating system, Cupcake, should be attractive to a wider segment of developers."
The plug-in is only available to OEMs, rather than being aimed at consumers themselves.
Adobe announced earlier this month that it is currently preparing a beta version of Flash Player 10 for the Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile and Palm Web operating systems.
The player will be made available at the Max conference later this year, the company said.
