IBM has announced a mobile app for the Android platform aimed at those attending this year's Wimbledon tournament.
The Seer Android app is currently in beta and offers a real-time guide to the IBM-sponsored tennis event, as well as providing an interactive map and displaying the latest scores.
It works by letting users record a video feed of where they currently are at the tournament and then superimposing data and content related to the stream.
IBM also announced another app available for most handsets running Java, called the Seer Aggregator, which aggregates all Wimbledon-based content on Twitter into a single channel.
"These smart applications were designed with tennis fans in mind and add a whole new dimension to the event, whether you are attending in person or sitting in your garden 5,000 miles away," remarked Rob McCowen of the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
An official Wimbledon app is also available for the iPhone and offers video highlights, latest scores and the latest news from the tournament.
