Google has announced the launch of the Google Mobile App for Nokia S60 smartphones.
The app allows S60 users to access search, Google Maps, Gmail and other Google services quickly from their home screens and offers integrated location awareness for tailored search results.
It also includes a search history feature for quicker searches and suggestions for queries based on this information. Users need to have Nokia software installed on their phones before they can use the app.
"The development of Google Mobile App for Nokia S60 smartphones ... has provided an opportunity to address three aspects of an issue we hear about on a regular basis: immediacy," commented Benedict Davies, user experience designer for the Google Mobile team.
Google launched a beta version of its Sync mobile app for the S60 platform last month.
The tool lets users synchronise their Google Contacts and Calendars with their mobile phones and is also available for Blackberry, iPhone, Windows Mobile and SyncML devices.
