Adobe has launched a free preview of BrowserLab, a tool for web designers that lets users check the compatibility of their sites with a range of browsers and operating systems.
The application supports all of the main modern browsers, including Internet Explorer 6.x and 7.x, Firefox 2.x and 3.x, and Safari 3.x.
It makes use of virtualisation technology to let users test their websites without having the actual browser they want to check their designs with installed on their own systems.
Multiple viewing and diagnostic tools are also included in BrowserLab, which is undergoing a tiered rollout as a free preview on a first-come, first-served basis.
"With Adobe BrowserLab, designers have a simple solution that enables comprehensive browser compatibility testing in just a matter of minutes," commented Lea Hickman, director of Adobe's creative solutions business unit.
Adobe recently announced that it is working with Nvidia to bring GPU video and graphics acceleration through the Flash player to mobile internet devices such as netbooks, tablets and phones.
