ITV saw traffic to its website surge ahead of last weekend's Britain's Got Talent Final, new figures have shown.
The website became the 36th most visited site in the UK in the week to May 30th after searches for 'itv' more than doubled during the period, according to Hitwise.
ITV.com's Britain's Got Talent homepage also became the 40th most popular website last week, representing one in every 600 UK internet visits.
Robin Goad, UK research director at Hitwise, said: "This was the website's busiest day over the last three years - and therefore probably ever."
Meanwhile, official figures released by ITV this week show that the broadcaster's website saw a 528 per cent increase in video views in May compared with the same month last year.
Six million video views took place on ITV.com the day after the Britain's Got Talent final was aired, meaning that the series as a whole generated a total of 55 million video views.
