Spotify has previewed a version of its desktop music streaming client for the Android platform.
The app was demoed at Google's I/O developer conference this week and boasts the ability to cache tracks through an offline sync feature so that they are playable even when the user is unable to connect to the internet.
Users can also instantly drag and drop tracks from their desktop client directly to the Android app and make use of a search function that has been developed to offer the same experience as the full-featured version.
In a demo video published today (May 28th), Spotify said of the app's search facility: "We want to make this as simple as when you search through our catalogue on the desktop."
Spotify added that the app has not been finished yet and more details will be posted on its site in the coming months.
In a blog post, Andres Sehr of Spotify added: "This isn't the only mobile app we're working on, so stay tuned to this space."
The company recently rolled out version 0.3.15 of its desktop client, which included improvements to the homepage and an extra option for searching by label.
