Brands 'should take mobile seriously'

26th May 2009

Mobile marketing has been identified as one of the most effective ways to engage consumers, it has been reported.

According to an article in Business Week, mobile marketing services such as Pandora can be used to engage with consumers and allow them to purchase items remotely.

By including a call to action through Pandora ads, brands can increase the uptake in marketing campaigns.

Advertisers Target claimed that 27 per cent more people clicked on the ad for the release of Christina Aguilera's greatest hits CD last year than on any other mobile web campaign.

Domino's Pizza advertising executive Rob Weisberg commented: "Marketers, especially consumer brands, have to take mobile seriously now. You have to be where your customer works, lives, and plays."

Meanwhile, mobile payments proved successful in a recent US pilot project in which drivers could pay for their petrol with their mobile, leading to an approval rate of 80 per cent.ADNFCR-2036-ID-19186540-ADNFCR
