Visual search app Searchme has been launched for the Android operating system.
The app is now available for free from Android Market and uses patented technology to display large images of web pages, music, videos and products to users' mobile devices.
It allows users to preview web pages before launching them in the browser, potentially saving them time in the mobile search process, said Searchme founder and chief executive Randy Adams.
"Searchme's visual search app is perfectly suited for Android users who are looking for ways to push the boundaries of what their smartphone can do," he remarked.
The app first launched less than a year ago and currently has over four million monthly users.
Other recently launched Android apps include those from news publication USA Today and NBA Digital.
The USA Today app offers mobile access to news and other content, while NBA Digital's app provides live video streaming for the NBA Eastern Conference Finals in the US.
