New research has offered an insight into the most popular types of online content perused by mobile web users in Europe.
Younger mobile internet users tend to prefer social networking, online search, entertainment news and weather information when surfing the web from their phones, according to comScore.
Meanwhile, those aged 35 and over seem to lean towards web search, weather, stock information and general news on the mobile internet.
The study also revealed that most teenage mobile phone users generally own an LG or Sony Ericsson device, with 18 to 24-year-olds being 80 per cent more likely to own an iPhone than the average mobile user.
"Mobile offers attractive opportunities for advertisers to target audiences based on the type of content consumed and device owned," said Alistair Hill, analyst at comScore.
About 93 per cent of UK iPhone owners used their devices to access mobile media in January, according to separate comScore figures released last month.
