T-Mobile has revealed that sales of the G1 are approaching the 100,000 mark in the UK.
It said that sales of the handset have outstripped those of its other phones since it was launched last year.
The figures come shortly after the mobile operator's parent company, Deutsche Telekom, reported one million G1 sales in the US since its launch.
Also announced this week was T-Mobile's second Android device for the UK, which will be launched later in 2009. However, the company did not divulge any further details on the phone.
"We're looking forward to launching another groundbreaking phone on Android later this year," commented Richard Warmsley, head of internet and entertainment at T-Mobile.
T-Mobile also outlined some of the new features coming to the G1 as a result of the release of Android 1.5 in May, including a new touchscreen keypad, direct YouTube uploads, in-browser copy and paste capabilities and more widgets on the home screen.
