A usability expert has rated the BBC News website as having the most user-friendly headlines.
Jakob Nielsen of Nielsen Norman Group, a web consultancy, praised the site - which underwent a major redesign last year - for its short and informative headlines.
He also highlighted the fact that the headlines make use of important keywords early on and said that they tend to be easy to comprehend out of context.
Mr Nielsen went on to note that an analysis of recent BBC News headlines shows the average heading to be five words and 34 characters in length.
"The amount of meaning they squeezed into this brief space is incredible: every word works hard for its living," he said.
Mr Nielsen published another Alertbox column earlier this year calling on company websites to improve the usability of their online press pages after research suggested that most journalists turn to the web for information first when writing a story.
