The website belonging to freesheet thelondonpaper is to be revamped with a new focus on social media.
According to new media age (nma), the newspaper has engaged social platform provider Pluck to help it to deploy new features such as blogs, ratings and reviews.
The newspaper's own figures show that thelondonpaper recorded 189.901 unique users in February this year and has a print circulation of 500,824.
"We've focused on social media as it's relevant to our target audience, who eat, live and breathe it," Saalim Chowdhury of thelondonpaper told nma.
Meanwhile, thelondonpaper's website will also see integration with the Facebook Connect platform, which lets Facebook users log in to participating websites using their accounts and share content with their friends.
Earlier this year, it was announced that newspaper group Trinity Mirror is to use Pluck's tools to enable social media capabilities across its main national and regional websites, including the Daily Record, the Mirror and the Liverpool Echo.
