The BBC has announced the launch of a public beta of its new music artist web pages, as well as a new BBC music website.
Writing in a blog post, BBC interactive editor for music Matthew Shorter explained that the music artist pages now come with information such as improved play count data, links to BBC news and blogs and links to the BBC's own album reviews.
The BBC music website has also been revamped so that its overall template and design conventions are now in line with most of the rest of BBC Online, while the website is testing a new Flash interface.
"We're keen to get our content around artists and albums on to the mobile platform. We're looking at ways in which we can reflect and link to activity around artists from the rest of the web," Mr Shorter stated.
This week has also seen the BBC launch a new look for its World Service website. The site now incorporates a wider layout and has improved navigation options, more podcasts and a new Have Your Say index, among other features.
