Sky News has launched a new online map showing job losses and gains around the UK.
The map is powered with data from business information provider Mandis and lets users search by region, date and job sector. Sky News said the aim of the map is to offer a snapshot of how the recession is impacting on specific regions and industries.
Users can also select specific jobs and locations for more details on the job vacancy or region in question. More than three million companies and public sector organisations are included in the map.
"Sky News and skynews.com is always looking at ways to make the news more relevant to its viewers and users and to help them make sense of how the big stories relate to them personally," said Skynews.com executive producer Julian March.
The news broadcaster recently announced the appointment of its first Twitter correspondent, who will source breaking stories via the microblogging site and report them for Sky News.
