The most popular web searches for consumer electronics products are for mobile phones, according to new figures released by Hitwise.
About 30 per cent of all consumer electronics-related queries were for mobile phones in the week ending March 14th, with the iPhone coming out on top with one in 12 of all mobile queries.
Richard Seymour, Hitwise's UK client intelligence analyst, said in a blog post: "The iPhone has so far only been surpassed on the odd week or two during the launches of new phones."
Video games, computers, software, televisions and cameras were among the other most searched-for consumer electronics products.
In terms of branded consumer electronics searches, Apple again came out on top, followed by companies such as Nokia, Samsung, Dell and Sony.
The 12 weeks ending January 3rd saw Facebook emerge as the most popular overall branded search term, followed by YouTube, eBay, Bebo, the BBC and Amazon, according to Hitwise.
