Last month, digital marketing research firm eMarketer claimed that UK online ad spending would hit £3.58 billion in 2009 - now it is suggesting that websites are adapting their adverts to use all the benefits a high-speed broadband connection offers.
Businesses are apparently opting to create marketing pieces that use high-tech features on a more frequent basis.
Zoom features, virtual fashion models, 360-degree views and product videos are all used in ads, according to eMarketer.
And this comes after research from the company indicated that more than 17 million households in the UK will have broadband this year, which is an increase of 6.5 per cent on 2008.
With an increase in broadband users, a company may see web development as an area of commercial activity worth invseting in.
Senior analyst at eMarketer Karin von Abrams said: "Broadband is increasingly vital for UK consumers as they make the most of what the web has to offer."
