T-Mobile reveals top Android apps

20th February 2009

T-Mobile has unveiled a list of the most popular Android apps in the UK.

According to the mobile operator, the most popular app available on Android Market is the Weather Channel, which lets users take advantage of customisable maps and alerts.

MySpace Mobile and price comparison service ShopSavvy are the second and third most used Android apps respectively, followed by Daily Horoscope, Free Dictionary and ringtone creator Ringdroid.

Other popular apps include Backgrounds for wallpapers and Barcode Scanner - which lets users scan CDs and books to find out prices and see reviews - as well as Save MMS and Compare Everywhere.

Last October, analytics firm Medialets revealed that the number of apps available on Android Market tripled in the first week of the store's launch.

Pac-Man by Namco and the Weather Channel were the two most popular downloads during this period, it said, while five categories accounted for 61 per cent of all apps.ADNFCR-2036-ID-19037269-ADNFCR
