A search engine allowing users to look for listings and other information for films in the UK has been launched.
FindAnyFilm.com is the brainchild of the UK Film Council and is capable of finding out when, where and how a particular film is available, whether it is at the cinema, showing on TV, released on DVD and Blu-ray or online for download.
The website currently has more than 30,000 film records - equating to seven years' worth of movies - covering genres ranging from drama and Bollywood to classic and action films and including films in over 60 languages.
Searches can be made based on film name, location or mood, such as by inputting the query 'fairytale ending'. The site directs users to the relevant websites for purchasing products or booking tickets and alerts are also available for users wishing to know as soon as a DVD release date, for example, has been announced.
"We have turned what was often an incredibly time-consuming, frustrating process into one that makes it much easier for film fans to see films in the UK," said Peter Buckingham, head of distribution and exhibition at the UK Film Council.
The UK Film Council is backed by the government and is the lead film agency for the UK.
